Tour of the Mercedes-Benz Headquarters
This meeting of the Facilities Resource Group will feature a tour of the Mercedes-Benz Headquarters in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Sponsored by Mid America Metals, this limited tour opportunity for 10 participants includes a light lunch. Led by Lonnie Russell and Laura Hammond, the tour and presentation explores how the building was designed from the inside out, focusing on how employees work to drive the design. Space design at the facility features a 1:1 collaborative seat ratio. This means that for every desk seat, there is a meeting space or other type of space that allows employees to move around freely. The success of the Mercedes-Benz HQ is a team effort involving the architect, construction firm and property management who collaborated to deliver the building on budget and schedule.
