ABOUT: Project Manager Don Wilkins, C.B.O., C.F.M., M.C.P., with the City of Atlanta Office of Buildings will lead a discussion of ADA compliance and permitting within the City of Atlanta. During his presentation, Don will review the steps that the Office of Buildings has taken to keep City of Atlanta buildings compliant with the ADA while being conscious of the limitations faced by building owners and managers. Don will provide an outline of the updated process for building management, owners and architects to demonstrate ADA compliance when applying for a permit. The program will also feature a short Q&A session.

Don has worked for several building departments over the course of his twenty plus year career. He has held positions within local government as a Combination Building Inspector, Plans Examiner, Plan Review Supervisor, Deputy Building Official and Chief Building Official. In addition to his career as Building Code Administrator, Don has held the position of Bureau Chief with the Nevada State Fire Marshal Division of the Department of Public Safety where he supervised the Fire Protection Engineering Bureau. In that capacity he oversaw the State of Nevada’s fire plan review and fire inspection program.
