This event is sponsored by The Greater Atlanta Chapter of ASIS International, Atlanta Fire & Rescue, Atlanta Police, Atlanta UASI, BOMA Georgia, Emory Healthcare, GEM&HSA, Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange at GSU, U.S. Attorney's Office (Northern District of Georgia), and the U.S. Secret Service.

This year’s program is centered around Continued Threats to the Homeland and their impact on both the private and public sectors. The plenary sessions will focus on terrorism and mass disasters.

This will include briefings on emergency and fire response, updates on terrorism and resilience, and how private and public partnerships can work together on solutions, technology, and public policy regarding threats to soft targets and infrastructure, some of which we have seen play out in 2017. Speakers will include senior law enforcement officials from federal, state and local agencies, and chief security officers from some of the nation’s largest corporations. In addition, some of the most respected experts in the areas of terrorism and related fields will speak at the summit.

This year, our interactive breakout sessions will include a tabletop scenario. The breakouts will specifically focus on: Planning and Response: Local and Regional Hospitals; De- contamination; Transportation; and Infrastructure Protection. The purpose of the breakout sessions is to explore how businesses and law enforcement can better prepare themselves to handle security and emergency concerns, sharing of information, use of technology against criminals and terrorists, use of social media, threats to corporations, inter-agency collaboration and how to better protect soft targets. All four breakout sessions will address the same simulated scenario. When you register, you must select your preference regarding the workshop you would like to attend. We will make every effort to place you in your first choice, but that is not always possible. Descriptions of the workshops are linked to guide you in your decisions.

The briefing is free but space is limited. Continental breakfast, refreshments, and lunch will be served. Georgia POST and Georgia Chief Executive Training Credit Hours (7) will be awarded. ASIS re-certification points will be awarded. The Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agency will accept this program for continuing education/training credits for licensees.
